Recap from the Last Few Weeks

Wow, I'm Actually The Worst

I cannot believe how long it has been since I have written a blog post. I am so sorry. I got in a funk where my brain wasn't feeling creative enough to come up with blog topics and then I got really busy and didn't have time to post. I hate when I can't think of things to write about or when I just keep writing update posts. However, since it has been almost a month since I have written a post, it's needless to say that you guys deserve a life update.

Since my last post, a lot has happened in my world. We played our spring concert with the hardest musical repertoire I've ever played, we got to play in a concert alongside the world's greatest steel drum player, Liam Teague, I am going to be playing in the pit for our spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof, I became a member of the Ouachita Student Foundation, I was asked to be in my school's chapter of the International Sociology Honor Society, I've been growing my ebay store, and much more!

Last was spring break for me and this year I didn't go on a trip, so I could save money for the research trip I'm going on in July/August. On the first Sunday of spring break, I did go thrift shopping at my local Goodwill because they were having a sale where one of the colored tags was 90 cents per item and they had their regular Color of the Week tag that was 50% off, so I ended up getting a lot of great stuff! Most of it was for reselling on ebay, which you guys should definitely check out!, but I did also find a couple of cool pieces for myself. Then I dogsat/housewatched for my grandparents for most of the break. They paid me a good chunk of money for my help and I'll be able to use it for my trip! After they paid me, I did treat myself to a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie and went to look at my local Salvation Army and Marva, another thrift store in my town. I got a cute shirt at Salvation Army and at Marva I got a dress and two nighties, because I'm obsessed with nightgowns and can't control myself.

Now we only have 7 weeks of school left until Summer, so I'm pretty pumped about that! I'm preparing for Scholar's Day for my Research Methods class where we will present the research we have been working on all semester. I know that this time of the year will be laden with projects and assignments, but I think it will be alright. I have so many things that are planned out for the rest of this semester that will be fun and make these last few weeks of school by really quickly.

If you guys would like to see the items I have listed on my ebay page, follow my Instagram page that has all of the items I have listed, then you can search any of those items on ebay and find my page and follow that! The Instagram page is emthrifty19 and I will be posting my latest listings soon!

I'm going to try really hard to get my creative juices flowing and write more fun posts coming up! I want to keep the blog entertaining for all of you readers as well as keeping it fun to write! Thanks for keeping up with my shenanigans! ~Em

Last Part of My Outfit Challenge

Last Two Days!

Well everyone, here is the end of my challenge. It was really fun to make myself dress cute every day and it made me feel incredibly confident about myself. I felt more productive, positive about my body, and just overall really satisfied. Another benefit of this challenge is that it made me have to create outfits I had never worn before in order to keep up with different outfits for each day of the challenge. The end of my challenge isn't very exciting because there were only two days left in February on this last week and on one of them I didn't have class so I really only have one "cute" outfit to show you guys.

I don't have a challenge to do for this month, so I'm just going to be posting once or twice a week with life updates and maybe some silly stories. For a little bit of exciting news, I saw Judah & the Lion, Jon Bellion, and TwentyOne Pilots in concert with my sister A last night and it was PHENOMENAL. It was our second time seeing Judah & the Lion and TwentyOne Pilots, but I could see them an infinite amount of times without getting tired of them. I could gush on and on about how amazing the bands were, but I already wrote a really mushy post about TOP when I saw them this past summer so I will save you from that. I got a really awesome Judah & the Lion t-shirt because I already have three TOP shirts and I haven't been able to find Judah merch until this concert. In some sad news, the trip to Portland for the Pacific Sociological Association Conference got cancelled, but that means we can save more money for our research trip in August! Anyway, I will quit jabbering and just show you my pictures!
February 27th: All of the pictures I have for this outfit are silly and I apologize for it but it's the second to last day of the challenge so oh well! Even though you can't really tell, my sweater is dark green and navy blue and it's from rue 21. It's really comfy and has some cool slits up the sides. My jeans are just from plain dark wash skinny jeans from Old Navy and my boots are from Target.
AA told me to be a one-legged bird, swan, duck and this is what I came up with.

February 28th aka THE LAST DAY OF THE CHALLENGE!: I didn't have class on this day and didn't want to take a pic of the t-shirt and workout pants I was wearing so I decided to end it on this super cute nightgown my stepsister O got me for Christmas. The picture is a little bear with a hat on and it says "Beary Sleepy." If you love nightgowns, you should check out Walmart's because they are only $6 and they are amazing.
Thanks for tuning in every week to my outfits! I hope you guys enjoyed them, because I know I enjoyed dressing up for you guys and showing you a little bit of my style! I'm actually working on getting rid of some clothes that I never wear so I can go thrift shopping over Spring Break and revamp my wardrobe! I will definitely post a thrifting blog post when I do that! ~Em
