My New Project

Reselling Thrifted Clothes

As promised, here I am writing about the new project I am working on. I am SO incredibly excited about this project and I have butterflies in my stomach just writing about it! I don't know how many of you know this about me, but I LOVE thrift shopping. I love the feeling of going into a store and not knowing what kind of awesome clothes you're going to find and most of the time, you find items that not very many other people in the world are going to have! I know that it might be surprising that I love thrifting so much considering I'm a germaphobe, but you just have to run your finds through the washer and they are good as new. Being on a tight budget since I am trying to save money for my research trip, I can't really justify going thrift shopping for myself. I have just been trying really hard not to spend any extra money on myself, besides for groceries, but those are kind of necessary. So, I started watching thrift store haul videos on YouTube to kind of fuel my flame and hopefully satisfy my shopping bug in me. I came across this lady whose YouTube name is New York Thrifter, and she is actually doing a series where she is teaching people how to resell nice thrifted clothes on eBay. I have watched all of her videos multiple times and got really inspired to try it out! I've invested a little bit of money into starting out and hopefully the profit from the items will help me make some extra money! I've done a ton of research on reselling and what brands sell well, and I am just super stoked for this! I bought seven items at a Goodwill to start out with and then AA gave me a couple hoodies that she doesn't wear that are in super great condition that I think will resell for a really great profit. You guys should check out my eBay store or account or whatever you call it at emthrifty193 to see if I have any items listed that you might want to buy! I will probably post updates of how it goes over the next few weeks, because I don't think any of the items I am starting out with have a very fast turnover rate but regardless, I think they will sell eventually!

Life Update

I don't really think I've talked much about what's going on in my life in a while, but that's because having a bit of a life crisis. Don't worry, everything is okay now, but I just let my worries build up and they made me have a pretty bad bout of anxiety a couple weeks ago. For some further explanation about this anxiety, most of you probably know that I'm a homebody and I like to be with my family and visit home quite a bit, but I have not been able to go home at all this semester. I know if has only been a little over a month, but that's a lot for me and I miss my dog and my parents and siblings. I was just feeling overwhelmed by the idea that I wasn't going to get to go home until Spring Break because of how busy my schedule is, but the Good Lord came through! Our tour this semester for Wind Ensemble was cancelled so 1) I don't have to worry about being late to the concert I'm going to this coming Friday, and 2) I get to spend the weekend at home after the concert! It is such a relief that I get to go home this coming weekend and I am really looking forward to unwinding and relaxing with Winnie and my family.

Another update, we are taking on a new pledge class for SAI right now, tonight is actually our Pledge Ceremony and we have two new girls pledging to our club! The process of taking on new members is a pretty time consuming process and we've been having to do a lot of preparing for that (another reason I haven't been able to go home.) I am super excited though about adding two new babies to our club and seeing what that add to our sisterhood.

Lately I've actually been offered a couple of opportunities for band! I got asked to play in the pit orchestra for my school's production of Fiddler on the Roof next month and I also got asked to play an Easter gig at a church. Both of these opportunities I will be getting paid for which is a blessing, especially since I only get paid once a month and am trying to save money. I also just really love being asked to play my trumpet for things outside of band because it makes me feel as if my musical experience gets to be expanded and become more diverse. Playing at churches is much different than playing in a concert band ensemble so it's incredibly fulfilling.

P.S. For those of you who are wondering what concert I'm going to this weekend, it's Judah and the Lion, Jon Bellion, and TwentyOne Pilots! I am SOOOOO pumped. My sister A and I are going and we have nose bleed seats but we already agreed that we are going to dance and have an amazing time no matter how far away the bands are from us.

I think that's all of the updating I have to do for now. I have two more days of my February Outfit Challenge and then onto the next thing for my blog! Thanks for reading! ~Em
