Pet Post!

Yay Pets!

Okay so I really love animals. Like REALLY love animals. That being said, my family does not have very good luck with pets. We've had sickly pets and really dumb pets, but we have also had some of the best pets a person could ask for. I guess in this post I will just talk about my pets that are still living. I will say that in my entire 18 and a half years of life my total pet count goes as follows:
  •  Countless numbers of fish (honestly probably somewhere between 25-40.)
  • 7 cats (I think)
  • T had two guinea pigs for a while
  • A couple hamsters
  • Probably a turtle here or there
  • And 16 dogs that I can remember. Yeah. 16.
A lot of crazy things happened to these pets and that's probably the reason I've had so many. Plus I had pets at both my mom's and dad's houses so all of these animals certainly did not live at one house. So without further ado I will introduce you to my pets.

Winnie

Winnie is my precious long-haired chihuahua. She is 7.5 years old and is my spoiled rotten baby. Winnie is my dog at my mom's house and I'm pretty much the only one who actually likes her so everyone just says that she's "mine." Especially when no one wants to feed her or pick up after her. She really is kind of a brat and she just gets more and more ornery with age. The summer before my senior year of high school, Winnie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She was extremely sick and we didn't think she would make it through the summer. The doctor gave her some medicines that help keep fluid off her heart and lungs. As long as she has her medicine she is fine but we can really tell when she doesn't get it. She's really in to cuddling which I'm perfectly fine with and she is just the perfect little companion and side kick for me. She's also incredibly derp-y at times as you can see in the picture with the cheer shoes. She always brings us a good laugh around the house and she is one of my favorite things to come home to when I get to come back from college. I love that little goober so much. She will always be my little baby no matter how old she gets. <3

Potter

Okay y'all, Potter could probably win the ugly dog contest honestly. He is an 11 year old Pekingese. I know these pictures don't do him any justice at all, whatsoever, but he used to be really adorable. He is my dog at my dad's house and he just looks really rough. He has always been a pretty grumpy dog. He was raised around pretty big dogs so he probably has small dog syndrome. He has had some pretty bad health issues in the last couple years. He had a couple of seizures and he has a weird skin condition where he doesn't grow very well anywhere except his head and paws. That's why he has to wear the sweater. He is also going blind and his hearing is pretty awful. He also smells really bad, no matter how many baths we give him. He is just a really strange dog. We still love him and just say that he is so ugly that he's cute.

Dixie

Dixie doesn't get her picture taken too often because she is an outside cat. The funny thing is that she is A's cat, but both A and S are allergic to cats so she has to stay outside. A is obsessed with cats and so she just pretends like she doesn't have an allergy to them. Dixie is 2.5 years old and we like to call her White Devil. She is very rambunctious and noisy. Her favorite spot is the rocking chair on the front porch. I think that all she wants from us is food because she will sit on the arm of the rocking chair and look through the window at you and just howl. She and Winnie used to fight quite a bit and Dixie has always been quite a bit bigger than Winnie so she just gives her a good *boop* and Winnie is done. Dixie is a really sweet cat and just kind of lounges around. We are very thankful for her solving our lizard problem and we rarely have snakes around the house any more. I love this silly cat!

King Louis VII

The newest edition to my family is King Louis VII. AA and I decided we needed a fish for our dorm room so we could have a little companion. He is a rose petal betta fish and he is a pretty fun little character to have. AA and I haven't had him for very long, but for a fish he has a big personality. We spent 45 minutes the first day we had him trying to figure out what kind of music he likes. You can't really tell from the picture, but he is blue and green with little white tips on his tail fin. He definitely is not the 7th fish that AA and I have had together but 7 is kind of an inside joke between AA, RG (my other bestie from Ouachita), and I. AA is keeping him at her house until we move back into our dorm and he has started following her finger up the bowl when he wants food. We'll see what other interesting things Louis does as he grows up :)

And there you have guys, my wonderful pets. I am such an animal person and I don't know what I would do without my faithful companions. I plan on having pets forever and my dream dog is a German Shepherd. As soon as I graduate college, I am definitely getting one! If you have pets I hope they are as loving and goofy as mine!
