Current Car/Dream Car

My Current Car and My Dream Car

My first car is also my current car and she is quite the trooper! My car is a 2007 Honda Accord and her name is Topanga. I got Topanga for Christmas the year before I turned sixteen. I was so shocked and excited because my parents convinced me that someone else had bought the car. It was the only car I test drove and I just fell in love immediately. The car was previously owned by an elderly couple who had only put about 37,500 miles on it. In the four years that I have had Topanga she has run into A LOT of problems. We have had to replace the transmission, the A/C unit, and both headlights. I also got a flat tire last Christmas and had a tire blowout on the Interstate a few months later. The A/C went out again this past summer but it was just a switch that had gotten shut off. Though we have experienced all of these problems with Topanga, she now has so many new parts that she is more like a new car than she is a ten year old car! I'm hoping that she can keep me going for a few more years, at least until I can get a "big girl" job and get some money flowing in. I have had so many wonderful memories with Topanga and she now has over 72,500 miles from our wonderful adventures together!

 My Dream Cars

So for as long as I can remember, I have had the same dream car. I remember doing a project in 4th grade for the Gifted and Talented program where we were planning a budget for the job we wanted at the time, which for me was to be a geologist. We had to look through newspapers to find a car that would fit our career, so I knew I would need something for rough terrain and that would be able to get down and dirty. That's when I fell in love with Jeeps. At the time I was looking more at Jeep Cherokees but as I've gotten older I've loved the Wranglers more, specifically two doors. I really like the the late 90s models and early 2000 models. My dream Jeep would be a 1999 two door forest green or black Wrangler. My mom wouldn't let me have a Jeep as my first car because she is afraid of the roll-over rate. Needless to say, when I can afford my own car and when it is plausible for me to purchase one, that's when I'll be able to get my car!

My other dream car that is not so plausible and that I have only recently come to love is a 1967 Chevy Impala. The reason I love this car so much is not necessarily for the cosmetic aspect of it, but because it is the car driven by my favorite characters in my favorite show. Most of you know how much I love Supernatural and this is the car that Dean and Sam drive in the show. I have an emotional attachment to the car now and have grown to love it because of all the memories that are tied to it in the show. It is a beautiful car and if I could get my hands on one I would definitely do so!

I am so grateful for my car and all the places she has taken me and I am looking forward to the future of cars in my life and more adventures in Topanga as well. I hope you all enjoyed this post for day 2 of Bloggin' New Year! ~Em
