The Most Disgusting Recipe I've Ever Had

Everyone has that one recipe that their parents cook that you absolutely hate. This is not one of those recipes, this is worse. In my family, we are always looking for new recipes. We have a cabinet full of cookbooks that we search through periodically when we become tired of our typical recipes. One night a few years ago, my mom, stepdad, and I were tired of or usual dinners and decided to try something new. I found a recipe that I thought sounded awesome! The cookbook called this recipe Mexican Couscous and it was basically couscous with ground beef, taco seasoning, green olives, and probably some other taco-type things that I don't remember. I was feeling really good about this recipe and with me being such a bad cook, I was glad to be following an easy recipe that I was certain would work. We had to put the couscous in the oven after all the ingredients were in it and then let it sit for a while. I was so excited when the dish came out of the oven, but it had a very strange smell. In fact, it smelled exactly like cat pee. My mom, stepdad, and I were very skeptical and couldn't get past the fact that it smelt so terrible. We tried so hard to eat the couscous but the smell transferred into the taste and the dish definitely tasted how cat pee smells. We ended up throwing it all in the garbage and going out to eat somewhere. We vowed never to test that meal out again and we try our best not to even think about it.
